Day 23: What’s the Difference Between Essential Oils and Perfume? 🌿🌸

Many people assume: “Isn’t essential oil just a natural version of perfume?”
In reality, although both have pleasant aromas, they are created for very different purposes.
Essential Oils
are extracted from flowers, leaves, bark, peels, resins, or roots of plants.
Plants naturally produce these aromatic compounds to protect themselves, attract pollinators, and adapt to environmental challenges.
Therefore, essential oils are more than just a fragrance—they contain the plant’s natural aromatic essence.
🌸 Perfume
is designed primarily to create an attractive fragrance experience.
Perfumers blend various aromatic ingredients and fragrance materials to create scents that are layered, unique, and long-lasting.
Simply put:
🌹 Essential oils focus on the plant itself.
🌸 Perfumes focus on the fragrance experience.
While both smell wonderful, their purpose, philosophy, and applications are quite different.
This raises some interesting questions:
🤔 Why are essential oils often more expensive than people expect?
🤔 Can essential oils and perfumes be used together?
🤔 How should people with sensitive skin choose between them?
🤔 Is every “natural fragrance” really natural?
